La Cordero y su ejército is a celebration of the end as a beginning. A necessary transformation. A ritual of surrender. An infernal striptease as an act of revelation and empowerment. A leap into the void where vulnerability becomes strength and transformation.

La Cordero y su ejército is the performance that brings to a close the trilogy Noise, Vanity and Alcohol, a body of work that explores Sol Picó’s personal, internal apocalypse grotesque and kitsch. A newly created piece that fuses classical ballet and flamenco, a hallmark of Sol Picó’s work.

In an increasingly populated planet, we feel more alone than ever.

Like small wandering islands, we move in a circle, avoiding stillness, in an eternal and exhausting aimless movement, in search of the other that must complete us, of the authenticity that, with numbed senses, we no longer know how to identify in a world of people lonely and gray, and where most of our interactions are virtual.

On its thirtieth anniversary, the company proposes a large-format street show in which iconic previous shows resonate, and which reflects on the paradox of loneliness in today’s society.

The company thus recovers a fundamental characteristic of its language that has differentiated it on the international stage scene: the use of large sets with spectacular and emotional staging, where the most risky dance contrasts with the robustness of large metal structures.

Ballast is this heavy material that when let go gives lightness.

Site-specific, a 25-minute solo that marks the prelude to a trilogy in the life of Sol Picó as he embarks on a process of liberation, transformation and healing.

In this piece, the music of Judit Farrés is mixed with three dancers who accompany Sol Picó.

Along the way, she will experience a vital renewal that will shape her uniquely.

The world of superheroes serves as inspiration for Sol Picó’s new creation, which reflects on immigration seen through the eyes of a girl, who tells us her story and that of thousands of people who must leave home to head towards a uncertain fate, which may not be as welcoming as expected. With live music, Macarron Power shows the vicissitudes and difficulties that our heroine must overcome throughout her journey, how she faces her fears thanks also to the allies and friends she meets along the way. The public is also part of this journey, collaborating in this interactive show, either on stage or from their seat.

Malditas plumas explores the different episodes in the life of a character, performed by Sol Picó, on a journey that shifts between tenderness and decline. In this story, the audience learns about this vedette of El Paral·lel and shares her memories and experiences… But what if she never was a performer and this is only her dreams, her lifelong hopes, her unfulfilled desires? Perhaps all is merely delirium, which, although transporting us to a very specific place and time, also connects us with the most human and, therefore, universal of feelings: fear of death, of decline, of loss… of ceasing to be.

Inspired by the genre of the Spanish revue and its picaresque style, this show plays with transformation, audience interaction and the blurring between fiction and reality, always with the irony and sense of humour that characterise the language of Sol Picó.

Sol Picó offers us an intimate talk, as if he were speaking to us from the sofa at home, about his 20 years of profession: fears, doubts, unspeakable failures, unrealized dreams…the procession goes on inside…

It will reveal how and when inspiration comes and what happens if it doesn’t!

She refreshes our memory through suggestive images of her beginnings and explains to us what a life dedicated to dance in body and soul means to her: being a woman, mother and artist, an explosive cocktail that must be prevented from exploding in hands.

Sacrifice and fun accompanied by an exceptional team for 20 years, who have accompanied her on tours of more than 30 countries and have experienced with her how her Mediterranean dance is lived in Beijing, Kinshasa or Paris.

She will speak and ask us questions because she is very interested in what we, the spectators of this world, think… are you ready?

Meeting between two “scenic animals” each one in their field, for the first time together on a stage: Sol Picó and Marco Mezquida. A musical trip with synesthesia of movements and sounds.

They will tell us a love story, but you will have to use words to do it, only the language of music in the case of Mezquida and that of movement in the case of Sol Picó. Do not be surprised if you see her dancing on the tables or chairs, or if she suddenly climbs to the piano.

Blind date is a versatile and easy-to-assemble piece, adaptable to both indoor and outdoor or non-standard spaces.

Sol Picó has been awarded, among others, with the National Dance Award 2016 and Marco Mezquida is one of the consolidated talents in music despite his youth. He has been awarded four times in a row as Musician of the Year by the ‘Association of Musicians of Jazz and Modern Music of Catalonia’ (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015)

Halab is an itinerant street dance piece interpreted by 24 students of dance and with the choreography of Sol Picó.
Halab, the original ancient name of Aleppo in Syria, pretends to sensitize and give visibility to the humanitarian tragedy of the refugees that every day risk their lives in the Mediterranean sea trying to escape of the terror of their origin countries. With live music of Pere Jou, Halab is an austere but powerful piece, committed, thrilling and touching at the same time, that approaches us to a terrible reality that suffer thousands of people through the poetic language of dance.

The show consists of two parts: a first itinerant part of about 10 minutes, which can be performed several times, and a final part in a fixed location of 20 minutes duration.
Halab was premiered the 22th April, 2017 at the Festival Sismògraf of Olot, interpreted by the students of the Conservatori Superior de Dansa (CSD).
It was awarded with the prize ‘Sismo in Family’.

The dancer and choreographer Sol Picó reinterprets traditional Valencian folk culture through a journey that explores origins. The marked and powerful style, delivered by the band’s thirty musicians, evokes rice cultivation, marshlands, sunlight and Valencian festivals. The repertoire features influences ranging from Chimo Bayo to Vicent Andrés Estellés, including muixeranga (ancient street dance and human pyramid formations) filaetes (Moors and Christians festival parades) and trinquet (ratchet used to control the water flow of a river channel). Carles Dénia and Sol Picó make a special guest appearance.
